Adam Roberts is an author and academic. He has written 25 novels, and published a wide range of critical works on SF and Fantasy, including The Riddles of the Hobbit (Palgrave 2013) and A Short History of Fantasy (Bloomsbury 2025). The 'Short History' did not end up, after everything, very short.
