West teaches Old and Middle English at Regent's Park College (sabbatical cover) and specialises in medieval languages and literatures. He holds a DPhil in English Language and Literature from Lincoln College, Oxford, an MPhil in Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic from Selwyn College, Cambridge, an MA in Medieval Icelandic Studies from the University of Iceland, and a BA in Classics from Baylor University.
