Dr Helen Young was awarded a PhD in Middle English Literature by the University of Sydney, Australia, in 2007. Helen has published widely on popular culture, fantasy literature, medievalism, and histories of race and racism including: Race and Popular Fantasy: Habits of Whiteness (Routledge, 2016) and, with Dr Kavit Mudan Finn, Global Medievalism: an Introduction (Cambridge University Press, 2023). Helen is currently an Australian Research Council Future Fellow leading the project "The politics of medievalism: persuasive narratives" (FT 230100030).
