Grace earned her B.A. in English Language and Literature (Course II, First Honours) and M.Phil (Medieval English, 550-1550; Distinction) from Merton College, Oxford. She recently completed her doctoral thesis (the first on Tolkien at Oxford) on the intersecting influences of Norse mythology and the First World War on J.R.R. Tolkien's mythology, The Silmarillion and its related corpus. Her publications have appeared in Studies in Medievalism, Tolkien Studies, and Oxford Research in English; she also has written a chapter on J.R.R. Tolkien's poet friend, Geoffrey Bache Smith (d. 1916), for the forthcoming book: J.R.R. Tolkien and G.B. Smith: With the Wind in Our Ears (Palgrave, 2025). Grace has taught on Tolkien, Beowulf, and Norse myth at various Oxford colleges, and has lectured on Tolkien in Oxford's English Faculty, various Oxford conferences, and the Bradford and Oxford Literary Festivals. Last year she was one of the speakers for the Christopher Tolkien at 100 event held at the Weston Library and also interviewed Academy Award-winning screenwriter of The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, Phillipa Boyens, at Merton College. She has three podcasts on the Fantasy strand of the Great Writers Inspire series (for Oxford University Podcasts): 'What is the Silmarillion?' (2021), 'A Heroic History of the Elves: Finding a "Lost" Mythology of England' (2023), and 'Medievalism in the Margins: Echoes of Anglo-Saxon England in Appendix A of The Lord of the Rings' (2025).
