Professor Stuart Lee is a senior member of the Faculty of English at the University of Oxford. He has lectured on Old English, WW1 Poetry and War Poetry, Digital Humanities, and Fantasy Literature. He specialises in the work of J. R. R. Tolkien and has published and presented extensively on him. His books include The Keys of Middle Earth: Discovering Medieval Literature through the Fiction of J. R. R. Tolkien (Palgrave, joint with E. Solopova), A Companion to J. R. R. Tolkien, and the Routledge 4-volume Major Authors: J. R. R. Tolkien. He has been interviewed many times by the media on Tolkien and fantasy literature, notably helping produce the BBC's 'Archive on 4: Tolkien - The Lost Recordings'. Professor Lee has developed key online resources such as the First World War Poetry Digital Archive, is an expert on crowd-sourcing, an associate member of Exeter College, and also the University's Chief Information Officer.
